Andrew Watson is a Risk Analyst at Partners Risk Strategies. In this role, Watson provides data analysis along with enterprise risk insights to help develop and identify proper risk management and mitigation tools for clients across various industry types. He is an experienced risk management professional who holds the distinction of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Previously, Watson founded Smart Balance Solutions, an analysis and analytics firm servicing small businesses in Georgia. In this role, he provided financial modeling and strategic insights to companies in industries including transportation, energy and light manufacturing.
Prior to Smart Balance Solutions, Watson served as portfolio manager in corporate treasury at CertusBank, a multi-state financial institution with more than $2 billion in assets headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina. In this role, Watson was responsible for preparing and reviewing macro and micro economic trends, interest rate risk projections and liquidity analysis for senior executive leadership. He designed balance sheet models and reports for regulators and bank leadership to identify key portfolio risk factors for the purpose of mitigating credit and interest rate risk. In addition, he partnered with senior executives to strategize on funding needs to optimize annual income on a $300 million fixed income portfolio.
Prior to this role, Watson worked at distressed asset management and advisory firm Integrated Capital Strategies in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, he assisted with data analytics for bank core system conversions and conducted diligence work on distressed asset portfolios. Watson also worked in commercial banking at Bank of America.
Watson is an alumnus of Duke University and is an MBA Candidate (December 2021) at the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
