Joel Ford is Vice President of Sales and Operations at Partners Risk Strategies. In this role, Ford oversees sales strategy development, forecasting, growth, sales resource planning and overall client service delivery and administration.
Prior to joining Partners Risk Strategies, Ford served for six years as a State Senator for North Carolina Senate District 38. As a legislator, Ford served on the Transportation, Transportation Appropriations and Transportation Oversight Joint Legislative committees. Ford sponsored and championed numerous pieces of legislation including passing the “Raise the Age” legislation to prevent children in NC from being charged as adults, helping to secure pay raises for teachers, reforming police body camera laws for accountability and transparency and lowering in-state tuition for public universities through NC Promise.
Prior to serving in the NC Senate, Ford was Chairman of the Charlotte Housing Authority, where he helped secure funding to launch and operate the Renaissance West Initiative, which revitalized a former public housing site into a vibrant residential village called Renaissance West; formed partnerships to eradicate homelessness, notably with the Salvation Army, Moore Place and McCreesh Place; and helped create the Center for Employment Services.
Ford began his professional career with Waste Management of Atlanta, GA and later launched his own waste management services company in Charlotte. Ford has owned several other businesses including a restaurant and service-industry businesses.
Ford serves on the Board of Governors for the University of North Carolina System and is a Member of the Board of Visitors for North Carolina A&T State University. Ford previously served on the Board of Directors for the Renaissance West Community Initiative, the Stratford-Richardson YMCA and the Council for Children’s Rights.
Ford is an alumnus of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.
